The parish of St Mary's in Horwich has been involved in the CHURCHES TOGETHER IN HORWICH (CTH) movement for about 30 years. CTH as it has come to be known among its supporters, has organised many events enabling Christians from different churches to meet together in prayer and worship. These have taken place not only at the various festival times in a year, but also throughout the year. However, it is not just in worship we meet, but also in the social sense when fund raising events are held for charities such as CAFOD and Christian Aid.
CTH has a committee composed of ministers and lay representatives from the 11 churches, there being one minister and one or two lay people from each church. The committee meets 3 times per year, in January, May, and September, with the AGM preceding the May meeting.
Father Jones represents St Mary's with the assistance of Eileen and Bernard Abram and Mary Webster.
HORWICH CHURCHES TOGETHER
Members of the Horwich Rotary Club have presented a glass bowl and certificate, now displayed on the altar, to the Churches of Horwich in recognition of their financial support for the Eden Bus Project.
The bus provides many enjoyable activities on a weekly basis for young people within a Christian atmosphere.
St Mary's is proud to be able to support such a project and asks if anyone from the parish could spare some time to help with the work of the bus, please phone 692875 for more information.
