THE ROSARY ROOM
 
Refreshments - served after 11.00 am Mass each Sunday.
 
Arts and Crafts for the children.
 
Pilates - every Monday 1.30-2.30 pm and 6.15-7.15 pm. For booking phone Linda 07900541034.
 
Reading Group - The first Tuesday of every month at 7.30pm. List of the books at the back of Church ad in the Rosary Room. Contact 01204 469820 for details.
 
Thursday Club - the First Thursday of the month either at 1.00pm for lunch followed by a talk OR at 10.20 am in the car park for an outing. List of events at the back of Church and in the Rosary Room. Contact 01257 268646 for details.
 
Canasta - every 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month 2 - 4 pm.
 
Prayer Group - meets every Wednesday at 7.30pm in the Rosary Room. Please join us for a prayerful reading of the Sunday scripture. You will be made most welcome
 
St Mary's Choir - The choir rehearses in the Rosary Room every Thursday evening from 7.30pm and sings at 11.00am Mass on Sundays. We are not just a choir, we are friends who enjoy meeting to chat over a cup of tea as well as sing. Please come along and join us. No previous singing experience is needed, though Placido Domingo would not be turned down!! Robert Aston Tel: 01204 468896
 
Note - Fire Regulations - stipulate that the maximum capacity of the Rosary Room is 50.
 
Day for Eucharistic Ministers and Readers of the Cluster
A day of recollection for Eucharistic Minister and Readers of the three parishes of St Mary's Horwich, Holy Family, New Springs and Our Lady's Haigh has been arranged for Saturday 2nd October at Ladywell Fernyhalgh, Preston. Coach leaves St Mary's Horwich at 10.30am and returns at 4.00 pm. Please ask Fr Jones for an application form and return the slip by 18th September so that we can establish final numbers. Please take a packed lunch.
 
Horwich Churches Together
The Churches Together group have offered to staff and organise a drinks station for competitors as they compete in the Iron Man Competition (an extremely difficult triathlon) which is to be held on Sunday, 1st August,2010 around Horwich. The station will be near Rivington and Blackrod High School. If anyone could help between 10.00am - 2.00pm and 2.00pm - 6.00pm or part of any session we would be most grateful and ask you to ring Sandra Mackay on 01204 692875. Thank you
 
Parish Trip to Leighton Hall - Near Carnforth has been arranged for Sunday 22nd August. The coach will leave St Mary's at 12 noon, leaving for home at 5.00pm. Cost is £15 for adults, £13 for children. This is the home of the Gillow family of furniture fame and has always been in Catholic hands. We will have a guided tour of the house, followed by a display of birds of prey at 3.30pm. There will be time for tea before we leave. I suggest bringing sandwiches for lunch. There is a list at the back of Church or phone 01257 268646 to book.
 
Hairspray
A reminder for all who booked so long ago. The coach will leave St Mary's at 6.30pm on Tuesday 27th July. The cost of the coach is £8 per person - to pay on coach.
 
Rome & Assisi 28th May - 4th June 2011

Articles for the next magazine are required by Sunday August 8th.
 
Revive
This is the Diocesan based charity supporting destitute asylum seekers, who are mainly people having no access to public funds and no permission to work. Revive again appeals to parishes to help. Donations of tinned and dried food may be left at the back of Church. A parish team will take them to the Salford base.
 
37th Annual Rosary Crusade
 - on Saturday 11th September 2.30 -4.30pm at Platt Fields Park, Manchester. Special theme is 'Peace and Reconciliation that they all may be one.'
There will be a guest speaker. Organised by The Legion of Mary, Manchester.
