Reminiscence continued.
We continue to focus on reminiscence projects and provide a wealth of resources for loan by other like minded organisations.
Two projects we have had great success with have been our Reminiscence cafe and our rock and roll event.
The cafe brought back old world charm to the centre of industrial Bolton, having waitress service, pots of tea and coffee and fresh cream cakes.
The rock and roll event was at the request of one of our members aged 90+ who wanted to relive the glory days of her youth. We were concerned that no one might join in and had made lots of contingency plans but as the session got into swing the dance floor was full and a great, if not exhausting time was had by all.

The power of music and dance was evident as one gentleman with dementia who usually sits impassively watching was encouraged to get onto the dance floor by his wife. Within a few seconds one foot developed a beat, then the other. He then developed a bounce to the beat and eventually his arm began to move to the music. His wife was delighted whilst the rest of us stood and watched in amazement and satisfaction.
