We respond to carers expressed needs by providing:

Support groups.
Evening socials four times a year.
Outings to seaside resorts and other places of interest.
Weekly activity afternoons using traditional games where the carer and person being cared for can attend.
Spiritual support provided by our own Chaplain.
Room to take a break from caring in our Relaxation room, meditation room or the Carer's own drop-in room.

We use a variety of innovative therapies e.g.

 Simulated presence therapy,
 laughter therapy,
 doll therapy,
music therapy
and our own version of living history reminiscence therapy.

We enable carers to have a voice in order to raise awareness of their own needs and those of the person with dementia.
By:
Reflecting their expressed views in our own newsletter 'The Candle' and ensuring the 1,000 nationwide distribution is received by associated health and social care professional as well as other carers.

Maintaining our interactive website which has allowed us to be in direct communication with other people worldwide.

The services we provide benefits carers, people with dementia and the extended family.

Due to limited financial resources we operate mainly in Bolton. However we answer queries via our web site from a worldwide audience and our newsletter has a nationwide distribution.

We attend national and international dementia conferences whenever possible to promote the group's work, to develop networks and to learn from others.
