Bolton University of the Third Age

What does Bolton U3A offer?

General Meetings are held once a month from 2 p.m to 4 p.m. We invite guest speakers to talk to us on a variety of subjects. Our members also contribute, either singly or, in groups when, for example, our choir helped by other groups provides an entertainment.
U3A can be fun!!!

Interest Groups meet once a month, to study their chosen subject. Group leaders are not necessarily teachers, just people with a passion for a subject which they are prepared to share. The emphasis is very much on the participation of group members, learning together. Group leaders receive no salary - they are members. And group members pay no tuition fees.

Visits to theatres, art galleries, museums and other places of interest form an important part of our activities. We also plan a programme of outings instead of group meetings during July and August.

A monthly Newsletter is produced to keep members in touch with events, dates and times of group meetings etc.

U3A News is a national magazine, issued three times a year, containing news of the U3A's nationwide activities.

Chit-Chat appears in March and October and contains articles by our own members.

The Third Age is a time of creativity and fulfilment for older people and as a member of the U3A you will make many new friends.
