Tuesday 20th September 2011 saw the first lecture in Bolton Archaeology and Egyptology Society's 2011/2012 lecture programme take place. The lecture was given by Glen Atkinson and was entitled "Digging The Ditch" and was all about the construction of the Manchester Ship Canal. The talk was fascinating, here we can see some of our members getting ready to enjoy the talk as our chairperson, Dr Joyce Tyldesley (in the left habd photo) introduced Mr Atkinson.
